It was a big week for the blog as Roosevelt Collection provided residents with insights into activities happening around the South Loop.
With Avengers releasing this week, Showplace Icon Theater hosted a special marathon of every previously released Avengers film that led up to the 11:45 premier. In addition, one of the top hip hop artists in the game ScHoolboy Q will perform at Reggie’s Rock Club.
Roosevelt Collection teamed up with South Loop’s Fitness Formula Club to host a Nutrition Workshop for residents to learn how to balance meals. This weekend, Brasserie by LM will open its doors to brunch and offer traditional French entrees, pastries and classic brunch items.
Now that we’ve entered the month of May, the ever-growing green initiative “Meatless Mondays” will begin. We give residents the scoop on which South Loop restaurants are supporting the initiative and nine tips to make Meatless Monday easy on participants.
Finally, we wrapped up the week with a spotlight post on our Retail Engineer Tony Orellana. Not only is Tony an animal lover, but he also played a major role in one of the most touching stories at Roosevelt Collection.
Next week, we’ll post a construction update from Dan McCaffery with the latest development announcements. Stay tuned for Roosevelt Collection and South Loop happenings on Facebook and Twitter. If you’re looking for something to do in the city or need a little inspiration, follow The Lofts on Foursquare and Pinterest.
Salon Buzz stylist Tom Baudoin shared his expertise on hair extensions, revealing how they give instant transformations for women. The post also featured a testimonial from one of Tom’s clients on her experience with extensions and the resulting new look.
This week on The Seen, we spotlighted Hyde Park Art Center, an EXPO CHICAGO partner and an important Chicago institution. Hyde Park Art Center’s new exhibition, Hairy Blob, explores the theme of time through multiple mediums.
EXPO CHICAGO recently released their official 2012 Exhibitor List. The announcement, which took place on April 24, included a speech from President and Director Tony Karman along with words from EXPO CHICAGO partners and Chicago icons such as Jeanne Gang and Rhona Hoffman. We featured photos from the event, along with information on EXPO CHICAGO’s diverse programming and special events.
Finally, the Turner Prize 2012 Shortlist was announced this week. This year’s shortlisted artists include Spartacus Chetwynd, Luke Fowler, Pau Noble and Elizabeth Price.
