This week on The Seen, we featured the Pinchuk Future Generation Art Prize 2012 shortlist. Established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, the Future Generation Art Prize is an international competition for artists up to 35 to discover, recognize and give long-term support to a future generation of emerging artists. The exhibition of 21 shortlisted artists will open at the Pinchuk Art Centre on October 27, 2012.

Next, we recapped a recent trip to dOCUMENTA (13) in Kassel, Germany. Every five years, the city of Kassel is transformed into a museum of contemporary art for 100 days. Don’t miss our highlights from the fair, including a peek into Chicagoan Theaster Gates’ installations.

Finally, we recapped a visit to Art Basel 2012 in Basel, Switzerland. One of the most important exhibitions of contemporary art in the world, our in-depth review shares some of our favorite works from the fair.

This year, the SCA is hosting a Roy Lichtenstein private gallery tour and cocktails evening. The most comprehensive exhibition ever devoted to Roy Lichtenstein, the exhibition features more than 160 works by the influential American artist.

Urban Life, Collected – Official blog for The Lofts at Roosevelt Collection

This week on the blog, we gave residents insights into activities within the South Loop and at Roosevelt Collection.

Now that we’ve entered the summer months, farmers markets begin to open. We spotlighted the Wheeler Mansion Farmers Market and the Printers Row Farmers Market.

We also unveiled two more faces of residents at Roosevelt Collection. This week, we introduced Justin Kowaleski & Jessica Musselman. The two are avid travelers and are set to be married this fall.

The South Loop PetSmart partnered with a local animal shelter to host an Adoption Day Saturday, June 30 from 11 AM-4 PM. If you’re thinking about adding a furry member to the family, consider a lovable rescue this weekend!
