This week on The Seen, we announced that Gordon Matta-Clark’s celebrated Garbage Wall would highlight the Chicago River at EXPO CHICAGO. Garbage sourced directly from the Chicago, Illinois, Mississippi and Ohio Rivers will be used to create this high-profile installation and highlight water pollution issues in the Midwest.

Next, we spotlighted SITE Santa Fe’s exhibition, More Real? Art in the Age of Truthiness. The definition of “truthiness” is that things we wish to be true are preferred to things known to be true.

Finally, we featured the James Welling show at Donald Young Gallery. Inspired by the paintings of Andrew Wyeth, Welling photographs environments that remind him of or are actual settings from Wyeth’s works in Maine and Pennsylvania. The photos are simple yet profound.
