The Seen Official blog for EXPO CHICAGO

This week on The Seen, we featured Industry of the Ordinary’s exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center. Formed in 2003, Industry of the Ordinary is made up of Adam Brooks and Matthew Wilson. While their work takes many forms, it is largely performative, seeking to engage the viewer as an inclusive display. Sic Transit Gloria Mundi showcases work drawn from more than 80 projects, including objects, photos and video documentation.

Next, we featured Hyde Park Art Center’s new exhibition, Ground Floor. This show introduces Chicago to the most promising emerging artists who have recently completed top-level MFA programs. A survey exhibition of fresh art that brings together work by Chicago’s new leading talent, Ground Floor acts as a biennial best-of show that challenges and transforms the city’s existing artscape.

Finally, we featured The Green Gallery from Milwaukee, WI. The Green Gallery will join EXPO CHICAGO this September as an exhibiting gallery for the EXPOSURE section of the fair. The Green Gallery presents MHML, a two person exhibition by Margaret Lee and Matthew Higgs.
